Technological innovations in galvanic cell-type oxygen sensors - Environmentally friendly oxygen sensors without using lead∗1

Maxell has developed galvanic cell-type oxygen sensors without using lead, taking environmental considerations into account. By adopting alternative materials to lead and the originally developed weak acid electrolyte, they have achieved performance equivalent to conventional leaded oxygen sensors. This article introduces Maxell's new technological development and efforts in anticipation of the exemption for lead-free products under the European RoHS directive.
