Sustainable Future

sustainable environment

We provide environmentally friendly products to our customers for a sustainable society and aim to contribute to the SDGs through the development and production of products made from recycled plastics and recycled paper. Would you like to consider environmental initiatives with Maxell?

Contributing to Realizing the SDGs

The 193 UN member countries, including Japan, unanimously adopted the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) at the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015. The SDGs comprise 17 goals and 169 targets, which stem from social issues that governments around the world aim to resolve on a global basis by 2030. In addition, identifying companies in all industries as important partners, this initiative calls for the active participation of companies in addressing and achieving the SDGs. Accordingly, through its products and services and CSR activities, the Maxell Group will contribute to the realization of the SDGs.

Contributing to CO2 Reduction

High-Definition Hybrid Stencil (FMM) for OLED Display Panel Deposition

It supports fine processing and has a high effective luminous area relative to the mask opening width, contributing to power consumption reduction.

Use of Low-Impact Materials

Lead-Free Oxygen Sensors (O2 Sensors)

The widespread use of devices equipped with lead-free oxygen sensors is expected to reduce the impact of soil and water pollution on ecosystems.

Contributing to Waste Reduction

ETHICAL PRO USE Recycled PET masking tape

Using recycled PET reduces CO2 emissions, helping to combat global warming.

Stencil: For printing and solder ball bumping

By adopting high-hardness NiCo plating, it contributes to the high durability of the mask (making it less prone to damage and deformation).

Electroforming mold

It is possible to form small molds that are difficult to achieve with cutting processes. The miniaturization of components leads to waste reduction and other environmental considerations.

Transcription Lead of Electroforming Method

The transfer leads have a three-layer structure of Au/Ni/Ag (basic specification), eliminating the need for post-plating processes and contributing to the reduction of environmental impact during IC package (electronic component) manufacturing.

FOWLP

By connecting and packaging multiple chips with different functions (FOWLP), it is possible to improve yield compared to integrating all functions into a single chip.

  • Lead-free: Lead content is less than or equal to 0.1wt% in each of parts (in a homogeneous material) comprising a product.

Establishment of the Maxell Group Environmental Policy

The Maxell Group supported "Keidanren Global Environment Charter", and as the policy of our environmental conservation activities, we formulated "Environmental Conservation Action Guidelines" in June 1996.

Aside from it, we also formulated "Environmental Vision" in the context of more CO2 reduction is required because the government of Japan set the goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

In May of 2025, we formulated "Maxell Group Environmental Policy" as an aim for tell concisely and clearly the contents of those "Environmental Conservation Action Guidelines" and "Environmental Vision" for our stakeholders.
