If you are unable to remove the cartridge from the drive after pressing eject, the cartridge's tape leader might be still attached to the drive's tape leader. Press the cartridge back into the drive and press eject again. Wait three seconds before removing the cartridge from the drive. If you rapidly remove the cartridge, you might damage the cartridge's tape leader or that of the drive.
If the cartridge does not eject after using the backup software's eject command, there might be communication trouble between the drive and the PC or backup software. Confirm that the drive and PC are properly connected. If the trouble continues, contact the manufacturer of the drive, software or PC.
